CONSUMER TIPS- PHOTOGRAPHY

Perhaps you have been to a friend's or family member's wedding reception recently and noticed that there were quite a few of those disposable cameras on the tables. You probably thought, "What a neat idea! This gives the bride and groom a unique way to remember their special day." Well, you were right!

By giving your guests the option to take pictures for you, you open up new ways to remember your event. It may have been that Uncle Henry was the only one to catch cute, little cousin Michael stuffing the entire piece of cake in his mouth. And, thankfully, Louise from Accounting had a camera in her hand at the right moment when the boss split the back of his pants while trying to do "the twist." These disposable camera present a new, creative way to remember the party.

However, it is not suggested that these cameras replace a professional photographer, especially at a wedding reception. One groom explains, "We decided to rely on the pictures our relatives and friends took. To tell the truth, there were a few very good shots. Unfortunately, there were not enough of them. And none of the pictures that were taken indoors turned out well."

If your event is important enough to spend time planning, it is important enough to spend time remembering. Whether you invest in a novel idea such as disposable cameras or decide on a top-quality professional photographer, make sure you take steps that will allow you to look back and remember the time fondly.
